Cyfrenne Mirandis

.

A close up of Cyfrenne Mirandis, highlighting her mismatched violet eyes

Nameday: 19th Day of the Second Umbral moon, 1542
Birthplace: Dravania
Nationality: Sharlayan
Current Residence: Thanalan, Uldah
Occupation: Archivist
Specialties: Aetherolinguistics, Bibliomancy, Binding & Summoning Cants
Distinguishing features:
Left eye slightly darker than right, (result of a childhood accident.) Left eye also sports a small beauty mark.

Born in the Sharlayan colony of Emporium in Dravania, the daughter of a former Bibliomancer of the Great Gubal Library and an Archon of aetherology. Cyfrenne showed an aptitude for Arcanum and Aetherolinguistics, and was trained as a Bibliomancer in both Sharlayan record keeping, and summoning and binding magic. These formative childhood years upon Aldenard meant she has always considered the continent and it’s diverse collection of city-states a second (and preferable) home.

After the Exodus back to the Northern Empty, she entered the Studium, focusing her studies on Arcanum and it's history. She graduated with a thesis entitled "The Art of Aetherolinguistics: An Incomplete Lexicon of Hydaelyn’s Magical Symbols, Sigils, Incantations and Inscriptions" in 1568 of the Sixth Astral Era.She then traveled broadly, basing herself in Othard after the events of the Calamity to research a proposal for her Archon's thesis, studying Othardian Geomancy and other ancient arcane arts to broaden her lexical expertise.Recently she declined the pursuit of an Archonship in her homeland, returning to Eorzea permanently to work as an archivist for her Uncle; a fellow Sharlayan expatriate who left the Northern Empty shortly after the events of the Calamity.

The Slanted Shelves

.

Cyfrenne's place of work, A library known as The Slanted Shelves.

.

Nestled amidst one of the bustling wards of the Goblet in Ul'dah. Although the name "library" is perhaps somewhat inadequate a description for what the building contains.Originally the personal collection of Sharlayan expatriate, Zancefer Mirandis, these days The Slanted Shelves functions more as a repository of tomes, curios and artefacts.

While not officially affiliated with the city-state of Sharlayan proper, the Slanted Shelves is a member of the recently founded Sharlayan and Eorzean Friendship Association and is sanctioned by Sharlayan’s Forum as a conduit for the sharing of wisdom.Open to the public for research, enjoyment and relaxation. Any citizen of Eorzea is welcome to browse the library and make use of the research and refreshment facilities during opening hours, from noon until the sixth evening bell, daily. However, none of the tomes, scrolls or manuscripts may be removed from the premises — except by card carrying members, of course.

Oliviede Ebrelnaux

.

A close up of Oliviede Ebrelnaux, with her ebony bob hiding her tapered ears

Nameday: 21st Sun of the Sixth Umbral Moon, 1541
Birthplace: South Shroud
Nationality: Gridanian
Current Residence: Twelveswood, Snakemolt
Occupation: Apothecary
Specialties: Alchemy, Anthropogeography, Aetheric Floraculture and Viviculture
Distinguishing features: Half-Hyur (Highlander.) Esoteric branding and scarring on the palms, biceps, sternum and heels.

Born to an Elezen conjurer and an Ul'dahn alchemist, Oliviede was raised in the family’s tradition of herbalist magic and had the makings of a capable alchemist and botanist from an early age.Officially apprenticed as an Alchemist of the Ul'dahn school under her Aunt at age eleven, then enrolled in Saint Mocianne's Arboretum's aetherocultivation division in the Sharlayan Hinterlands Outpost, studying both floriculture and viviculture, before graduating at age 19.

She left Dravania a short few moons before the Exodus, returning to the Shroud and her family’s travelling apothecary business, until the events of the Calamity. Which took a considerable toll on the Ebrelnaux family tree.Over the past five years she has continued her alchemical studies abroad in an effort to preserve and recover what she can of her family's traditional almanacs, lost to her in the fall of Dalamud. She still works as an apothecary and occasionally as an anthropogeographic researcher and curator for a conservation project, run by her old friends from her time studying at Saint Mocianne's.

Bloodbriar Cottage

.

Oliviede's home in the South Shroud, a cozy cottage built from wood and stone

.

Off the beaten trail in Snakemolt, in the shadows of Amdapor Keep, Bloodbriar Cottage is the humble abode of Oliviede Ebrelnaux.Abandoned and derelict after the events of the Calamity, the deed to the cottage was purchased by Zancefer Mirandis for his "adopted niece" to make use of.

The past five years have been spent turning it from a mostly uninhabitable ruin into a comfortable living quarters for one.
It serves as Oliviede's base of operations when she isn't abroad on field work or research missions.

Bloodbriar Cottage is not a RP venue, but it is open for visitors and people are welcome to use it for screenshots. (Please credit me for the build design if you do!) Located at Lily Hills Wing 1, Room #20, 14th Ward, Zalera

Info & ooc

.

Hi, thanks for reading my carrd!
I go by Elu. I'm in my late thirties, and a roleplayer of many seasons. I own 3 cats and am happily married to a fellow gamer and roleplayer.
This carrd has been created to serve as a hub for those wanting to learn more about my characters; either just because they're interested, or because they're interested in connecting to RP.Due to my real life age I have a strict policy against interacting with minors.I prefer my RP partners to be over the age of 25 for my own peace of mind.I enjoy a variety of RP with large and small groups, with a preference for out-of-game RP, due to my timezone. My timezone is GMT +10, while I am available for in-game RP on weekends, I usually use this time to attend in-game RP events. Out-of-game RP via Discord or other methods is usually my preference during the week days.

I use in-game RP events as an opportunity to meet new RP partners who are interested in getting to know my OCs in a low stakes setting with a pre-arranged premise.
I like to explore morally grey themes. I also love lorebending and it tends to feature heavily in my out-of-game RP.
I am always open to suggestions about joining plot focused RP Discord servers for RP outside of the game.
I like to run long-term plots over long periods of time and I prefer multi-para posts to short one liners outside of the game. Within the game I am flexible about the length of posts.

Additional Details for RP

.

While I am ok with certain levels of violence and character injury. Any serious, life-threatening injury or form of disfigurement should be discussed with me beforehand.I am not interested in any situations which would result in the death of my OCs.I am not interested in ERP or romantic relationships for either of my OCs. I ship them with my husband's OCs.I am happy to provide free-form GMing for RP plots, Although I've played pen and paper TTRPG for many years, I don't use these systems in the plots I design and run. That said, I am happy to learn and use combat systems for other people's plots.

If the above caveats are agreeable to you, I prefer to get to know people a bit before diving in to any RP with them. Feel free to reach out to me at my bluesky or my email, linked in the icons below, so we can chat about our OCs and RP goals and make sure we're a good fit.I don't share my Discord details publicly.
